As we continue to find our way in the world, sitting with our feelings is so important. I listened to Brene Brown’s podcast, and she talks about FFTS’s. It is how we can ground ourselves and, in a way, give the behavior a name such as freeze, fight, or flight in addition to being able to provide it with a percentage. For example, my husband and I both work in crisis, and then we have our private practice. We love our work, but we also experience exhaustion, and if we are both there at the same time, friction can happen. So naming has helped us both develop a plan to cope when we are both there.
